Built for cleaning businesses

Written for cleaning, not adapted from an office template.

Generic small business bundles leave you to rework everything yourself. Every Day One file uses the jobs, prices and problems of a cleaning business.

Price every type of clean

Standard, biweekly, deep clean and move-out prices by home size, plus add-ons like inside the oven, fridge and windows.

Know what you really earn

See your dollars per hour on every job after supplies and travel, before you send the price.

Answer “how much?” on the spot

Hand clients a printed price list with your business name, and quote by text in seconds.

Free pricing worksheet

Know your price before someone asks “how much?”

Every price starts with one line of math. Try it with your own numbers.

$185(3 × $50 + $8 + $8.40) × 1.10 = $183.04, rounded up

Example only, not a recommended price. Prices vary by area.

House Cleaning Pricing Calculator

Enter your hourly rate, supplies and mileage once. Get a price for every home size and service, build quotes in seconds and see what you really earn per hour. Works in free Google Sheets and Excel.

  • Rate Card: 8 home sizes × standard, biweekly, deep clean and move-out
  • Quote Builder: the total, your earnings per hour and a ready-to-send text
  • Client Price List: a printable page that fills itself in
  • Job Check and Local Prices: test your prices after your first 10 jobs

One example: If you undercharge one every-2-weeks client by $10 a visit, that’s $260 a year from one client. The calculator is $12 and shows what you earn per hour before you send a quote.

The cleaning business guide

Your first month, one step at a time.

Free guides that answer the questions new owners ask first, with the template that goes with each step.

  1. Set your prices. Work out your hourly rate, time per home and costs, then write a price sheet you can quote from on the spot. Pricing guides →
  2. Get your paperwork ready. An estimate, an invoice, a service agreement and a checklist for every type of clean. Paperwork guides →
  3. Find your first clients. Business cards, door hangers and flyers on the streets near you, then ask every client for a review. Marketing guides →
  4. Track every job. Log clients, payments, miles and expenses as you go so tax time takes an evening, not a week. Running the business →

How we make our templates

Researched, drafted, then checked by hand.

Every template and guide starts with official sources such as the IRS, the U.S. Small Business Administration and state agencies, plus the questions new owners ask online. We draft with the help of AI tools, then Ron Jenkins, Day One’s founder, reviews, fills in and tests every file before it goes in the shop.

Contracts are starting points, not legal advice. Have a licensed professional in your state check them before you use them.

More about Day One and Ron →

  • Sourced numbers. Guides show the math and cite where rules come from, so you can swap in your own numbers.
  • Typical ranges, not promises. Prices vary by area. We show you how to set yours instead of telling you what to charge.
  • Kept up to date. Spot a mistake or a rule that changed? Tell us and we’ll fix the page and update its date.
  • One business, one license. Use the files for your own business. Please don’t resell or share them.

Questions

Before you buy

Do I need Excel?

No. The Pricing Calculator works in free Google Sheets (a free Google account is needed) and in Microsoft Excel.

How do I get the files?

They’re instant digital downloads from Etsy. Nothing is shipped. Each file includes a Start Here guide that shows you how to open and edit it.

Will the prices work in my area?

The calculator uses your own hourly rate, supply and travel costs, so the prices it builds are yours. Example numbers are for illustration only. Check what 3 to 5 cleaners near you charge before you settle on a price.

Is this tax or legal advice?

No. Our templates and guides are general information and tools. For your situation, talk to a licensed accountant, attorney or insurance agent.

I’ve already done a few jobs. Is this still useful?

Yes. If you suspect you’re charging too little, the free worksheet’s 10-job tracker and the calculator’s Job Check tab show what you really earn per hour.

Look pro from your very first job.
